Are you a fan of the classic computer game The Oregon Trail? Do you fantasize about post-apocalyptic worlds overrun by zombies? What would you do if I told you that you could enjoy both, simultaneously, from the comfort of your browser? I’d probably crap my pants. Well, break out the Charmin and check out Organ Trail by The Men Who Wear Many Hats.
Based on the frontier edu-classic, The Oregon Trail, this updated and emulated flash-based version seeks to “prepare your children for the impending zombie apocalypse and dysentery” while allowing you to relive your childhood.
In Organ Trail, your character is stuck in a zombie-infested Washington D.C. Unlucky for you, the military is about to nuke the sh** out of the nation’s capital which means you need to get the heck outta Dodge. That’s the where the game begins. Choose your character, pack the station wagon, and lead a group of survivors to a safe haven on the West Coast. Along the way you’ll have to battle hordes of zombies, maintain your provisions, ensure your stag wag doesn’t break down, and keep your group alive. That’s pretty much it. Seriously. Look at the demo vid below. Play the game. Heck, play the original. And when you’re done be sure to let me (and the developers) know what you think.
BTW, if you have an iDevice check out The Oregon Trail (the original) for iPhone/iPad Touch ($4.99 | iTunes link)
I love the original. I <3 zombies. And, I really dig Organ Trail. How ’bout you? Feel free to share your memories of the original or your feedback on the remake below or via e-mail at me@y2kemo.com.
