Apple just released iOS 5.0.1 beta 2 along with an updated version of iTunes 10.5.1 that continues to tease their upcoming iTunes Match service. If you’re unaware, iTunes Match lets you upload up to 25,000 non-iTunes songs to the cloud and access them from up to 10 devices, including 5 computers, 2 different Apple TVs, and iOS devices.
Well, we’re officially past the October “launch” date and all Apple has to show for it is false hope.
When you open iTunes and click the iTunes Match link in the iTunes Store you see:

On iOS 5 devices, when you tap Settings -> Music you see something like:

Only to get served up a warm plate of disappointment if you try to turn iTunes Match ON:

As for Apple TV users they see get a pretty screen and then are directed to iTunes for full circle fail.

WTF Apple? Where is iTunes Match? Are you waiting on Facebook’s Arctic Circle servers? Are your engineers too busy trying to resolve Siri outages and iDevice battery life issues? Come on already. Get your sh** together. Your customers want to waste $25/year for anytime/anywhere access to all their songs! Whatever, I’ll stick with Audiogalaxy (until Google buys them).
