So I created the above image and posted it to imgur. Some simply didn’t get it. If you find yourself in a delayed state of laughter as well, let me explain my little joke.
Tim Tebow and Peyton Manning are quarterbacks in the National Football League. Tebow plays for the Denver Broncos and Manning plays for the Indianapolis Colts. Tebow is famous for “Tebowing” (getting down on a knee and praying after every play). He had a ridiculously lucky season last year and rode the God card to the second round of the 2011 Playoffs.
Manning hurt his neck at the beginning of the season, sat out for the year, and had four corrective surgeries along the way. On March 7, 2012, instead of paying a $28 million bonus to Manning, the Colts cut Manning from their roster. Manning, now unemployed, interviewed with a number of teams before agreeing to a 5-year $96 million deal with the Denver Broncos. While this is potentially very good for the Broncos, it is apocalyptic for Tebow as he will most likely get traded to a team in need of a running quarterback.
Still confused? Tebow tebows to Jesus and asks for help to get his team, the Denver Broncos, to the Superbowl. Jesus answers by sending Manning to the Broncos. Tebow gets traded.
Feel free to laugh out loud.
