Bluegrass Camping at Hagan Stone Park

I enjoy camping in “the nature.” Pitch a tent, start a fire, and wait for darkness (and s’mores). On a recent trip to Hagan Stone Park in Pleasant Garden, NC something interesting accompanied the sound of owls hooting and crackling wood—music.

Off in the distance we could hear the makings of a bluegrass band: a mandolin, banjo, 2 acoustics, Dobro, and a
bass fiddle.

Not long after it started, my cuñado and I walked over to investigate. When we rolled up we heard a handful of dudes and a lady strumming on strings and belting out tunes. It was fantastic, amazing, and magical.

It’s not often that I get to hear live music when camping. And it’s great to know that this local campsite has bluegrass music more often than not.
