The r/running #Anywhere5K was great!

baby with shades by baby joggerSo what is an #Anywhere5K? It’s simple really. Instead of registering for a scheduled race at a predetermined location, #Anywhere5K says, “Don’t bother. Go run your own race.” No waiting for Saturday or Sunday or whenever. No more registration fees or stale bagels or long bathroom lines. Just roll out of bed and go.

On occasion #Anywhere5K hosts a race in which anyone can run for free. Runners choose where they want to run and the #Anywhere5K team handles the event.

This particular race was dedicated to the 35,000+ runners of Reddit. From New York to California. From Canada to Sweden to the Philippines to Singapore to Australia. Runners really did run the r/running #Anywhere5K  from wherever they were.

This particular race was dedicated to a Twitter runner named @smartblond521 (also named April). It was her first 5K, and she ran it with about 35 other runners. From New York to California. From Croatia to the Philippines to Canada to Singapore to the UK. Runners really did run the April Showers #Anywhere5K  from wherever they were.
